Expect Construction on These Streets

The city has begun construction for the Arroyo Drive, Marengo Avenue, Meridian Avenue and Huntington Drive Sewer Improvement Project. Anticipated cost is $750,000.

The following is a press release from the City of South Pasadena.

The Arroyo Drive, Marengo Avenue, Meridian Avenue, and Huntington Drive Sewer Improvement Project was awarded on July 11, 2012 and construction started on Monday August 13, 2012. The duration of the contract is 60 calendar days, which equals to a completion day of October 12, 2012. 

The project involves replacing 4500’ of damaged sewer pipelines which were discovered to be in need of repairs through a citywide sewer video inspection program.

The Contractor is Nikola Corporation, and full-time inspection and construction management services are being provided by SA Associates.  The anticipated construction cost is $750,000.

Here are the tentative construction dates, according to Associate Civil Engineer Alex Chou:

  • Marengo Avenue: Completed August 13 to August 17
  • Arroyo Drive: August 13 to September 5           
  • Meridian Avenue: September 6 to October 2 
  • Huntington Drive: October 3 to October 10
