The all-mail parcel tax elections for South Pasadena and San Marino take place on March 12.

Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan reminded San Marino and South Pasadena residents that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming election is Monday. The all-mail parcel tax elections take place on Tuesday, March 12.

To date, there are nearly 9,000 registered voters for the San Marino Unified School District Parcel Tax Election. For the South Pasadena Unified School District Parcel Tax Election, there are about 16,600 registered voters.

In South Pasadena, voters will be asked to renew Measure S, which expires in June. If renewed, the five-year parcel tax will increase from $288 to $386 per unit (whether single home or apartment complex). Voters must approve the measure by a 66.7 percent majority. Back in 2009, more than two-thirds of voters approved it.
