Holden Appointed to Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Board

The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy has helped to preserve some 69,000 acres of wilderness and urban parkland.

Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) has been appointed to the Governing Board of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, Assembly Speaker John Perez has announced.

"The Conservancy has helped preserve urban parks and wilderness access throughout Southern California and especially in the foothills region of the 41st Assembly District," Holden stated in a press release.

"I look forward to working in partnership with local governments and private landowners to protect and preserve the natural treasures of the San Gabriel foothills."

Holden represents the 41st Assembly District, which includes South Pasadena, Altadena, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Monrovia, San Dimas, La Verne, Claremont, Upland and Alta Loma (part of Rancho Cucamonga).

The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy was established by the State Legislature in 1980. Since that time, it has helped to preserve over 69,000 acres of parkland in both wilderness and urban settings.

Who cares? Holden supports the 710 tunnel. That he would pose here as some sort of environmentalist is absurd.

Chris Holden, easily the most vocal proponent of the extension of the 710 Freeway--and he wants to "...protect and preserve the natural treasures of the San Gabriel foothills." O.K. Will someone kindly explain this seemingly contradiction?

No, he wants to position himself to sell our mountains and recreational areas to the National Park Service.

Same Chris Holden who pushed for the NFL to come to Pasadena and totally consume the Rose Bowl and the surrounding arroyo, and then pushed even harder for it after the citizens of Pasadena voted it down. He'll work hand in hand with developers to do whatever it is they want to do. His dad, Nate Holden was corrupt sell-out and he is too. Like father, like son.
