How to Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Athens Services will pick up trees from single family homes and duplexes through Jan. 19. Condos and apartment residents should put theirs out for pick up Jan. 8 or 9th.

Christmas tree pickup in South Pasadena starts next week. The day you put it out depends on where you live, and, not surprisngly, your regular service day. 

From the City of South Pasadena:

Residents in single family homes, or a duplex: place Christmas trees next to regular trash barrels for backyard pick up. Beginning next week, Athens Services will pick up Christmas trees for recycling on any regularly scheduled trash collection day.

Residents in apartments or condominiums: Place trees near the parkway, or curb, in front of their homes for convenient curbside service. Trees will be picked up on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 for residents on the NORTH side of Monterey Road, and Wednesday, January 9, 2013 for residents on the SOUTH side of Monterey Road.

Alternative drop- off site: 1200 Block Arroyo Drive (near Pasadena Ave.)

Please remember to remove all Christmas tree decorations, tree stand and shake off loose flocking to make the recycling process efficient.
