Why he's running for City Council:

I love South Pasadena. Its a charming, unique community with a lot of small-town character. I would bring to the City Council common sense, sound decision making and professionalism. I would bring to the City the ability to work together, to resolve issues and concerns, and to provide responsible solutions to City policies. I feel it’s important to bring integrity and trust to city government. In my professional career, I have worked with elected officials at the federal, state and regional levels. I have good relationships there that could be helpful to our City. I know how government works, and I know how it should work. My goal if elected, is to help preserve all that’s good about South Pasadena, but also help us face the challenges of the future.

*Mike Ten*

Ten has been a resident of South Pasadena for 45 years and is seeking a third City Council term. He served as mayor 2004-05 and is currently mayor (2010-11). An industrial engineering supervisor for UPS, Ten and his wife Helen are the parents of three children, all of whom attend or have graduated from South Pasadena schools.

Mayor Ten has been a member of the Committee for 13 years and has also been a past president of the SPHS Booster Club. He's coached AYSO 214, YMCA Sparks, SPHS Tennis and is currently a South Pasadena Youth Team Tennis Coach. He's served as a  Meals on Wheels driver since 2002.

A graduate of California State University-Los Angeles, Mayor Ten holds a master's degree from Azusa Pacific University.

Why he's running for City Council:

To continue the focus when I first got on council of moving our City forward addressing what are things the City government are designed for.

*Alan Reynolds*

A resident of South Pas for 27 years, Reynolds has served as a Commissioner on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
He grew up in South Pasadena, attended South Pasadena schools and participated in AYSO (both as a player and a coach). He was also the captain of his cross country and track teams.

After graduating, he attended the University of Southern California and received a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He's worked as a Project Manager/Engineer for an Environmental Studies project and then as a Sales Engineer for electronics components. He's acted as a Committee Chair for an IEEE symposium/exposition for four years and most recently founded Reynolds Sales & Consulting—a technical sales and consulting company.

Reynolds is a member of the and is involved with the .

Why he's running for City Council:

I have lived in South Pasadena my whole life and have a passion for our City. The council needs a diversity of opinions to create effective discussion that will represent our community. I want to run, because I feel that I can provide a fresh perspective on issues what have been important to this city for quite some time with a background as both an engineer and business owner. I have the ability to be open-minded and look at issues from alternate perspectives—but will stand firm when called for.
