Photo: Congresswoman Judy Chu Shows Opposition to Same-Sex Marriage Ban
On the day the U.S. Supreme Court took up the issue of Proposition 8, the California ballot measure that banned same-sex marriage, Congresswoman Judy Chu posted this photo to Facebook to show what side she's on.
Congresswoman Judy Chu posted this photo to her Facebook page Tuesday on the same day the U.S. Supreme Court began hearing arguments on the constitutionality of California's same-sex marriage ban.
The case could decide whether states can lawfully ban same-sex marriage as California did with the passage of Proposition 8 in 2008.
Chu, who represents South Pasadena in congress, also changed her Facebook profile picture to an equality symbol making the rounds on the social networking site. The photo above had nearly 300 "likes" on Facebook as of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
