Reminder: City Budget Workshop Thursday

This is the third and last of a series of meetings meant to promote a transparent City budget.

The City is encouraging the participation and input from the community in its upcoming interactive budget workshop from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the . 

This is the third and last of a series of meetings meant to "promote a transparent City budget,”  

City Treasurer Gary Pia encouraged the community to come out for Thursday's workshop in a recent blog post.

"I realize that municipal finance is complex and highly technical. And, only a few of us find it interesting. Even so, all of us are affected by it." 

After public input is gathered at this workshop, a draft budget will be presented to the City Council during a regularly scheduled Council meeting in May—with the goal of a formal adoption of the fiscal year (July 1, 2012-13) budget to take place in June.
