South Pas High Goes Digital for the ASB Election

Seven of the 13 student government positions for next year have been announced. Run-off elections for the six remaining positions will happen this week.

Balloting went digital at South Pasadena High School this year, as students took to computers and wireless mobile devices to vote for next year's Associated Student Body Commission, according to the school's newspaper.

The Tiger Online reports that seven of the 13 positions on the government board have been filled for the 2013-14 school year. A run-off election will be held Thursday for the remaining six positions. A student must earn more than 50 percent of the votes to be elected, according to the article. When no candidates clinch that percentage, the top two or three students participate in a run-off election. A second run-off can happen if there is no clear winner for each seat.
