The five-member South Pasadena Senior Citizen Commission, which advises the City Council on issues concerning senior citizens, has an unanticipated vacancy waiting to be filled, according to a news statement Thursday by Deputy City Clerk Desiree Jimenez.

Among the commission’s many duties is cooperation with various governmental agencies and civic groups aimed at advancing senior citizen planning and programming as well as formulating and proposing policies related to senior citizen services, the statement said.

The Senior Citizen Commission meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 8:30 a.m. at the Senior Center located at 1102 Oxley St.
