High School Students Get Close Up With Congress

SPHS students travel to Washington, D.C. to ask questions and see congress in session.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) met with seniors from who were visiting Washington, D.C. as part of the Close Up program Wednesday.

“It was great to meet a group of such bright and engaged students today who were visiting from South Pasadena High School," said Rep. Schiff. "We talked about the health care case before the Supreme Court, environmental issues, and preserving education funding."

Each of the students had the opportunity to ask questions about a wide range of subjects—from the environment, women’s health, the health care reform law, and the new boundaries for Schiff’s Congressional District.

"It was a privilege to speak with them, and I hope they all had a memorable visit to our nation’s Capitol,” said Rep. Schiff.
