Holy Family School Student Dies

Recent Holy Family graduate Katherine Elizabeth Evans, 14, died Sunday.

A 14-year-old girl who just graduated from Holy Family School in South Pasadena died Sunday, according to multiple websites. She was planning on attending  in the fall.

memorial video eulogizing Katherine Elizabeth Evans was posted to You Tube Thursday. Photos show the smiling eighth grader in her cap and gown from Holy Family School in South Pasadena. On the homepage of its website, the school posted a memorial to Evans, who died Sunday—18 days shy of her 15th birthday. Beneath her photo appears the quote, "Some experiences just leave memories while others leave a handprint on your heart,'' attributed to Wicked.

On Tuesday, La Cañada's Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy posted condolences to the Evans family on its Facebook page. The message reads: "The Flintridge Sacred Heart community grieves with our friends at Holy Family School upon the loss of recent Holy Family graduate and incoming FSHA freshman Katherine Evans. We ask that all pray for her family and friends in this time of great sorrow.''

On the home page of Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, Evans is listed among those for whom prayers and intentions are offered. Evans is described as an "8th grade student who just graduated...from Holy Family School in South Pasadena who died suddenly.''

An operator who answered the phone at Holy Family Church, after hours on Friday, said he would leave a reporter's message at the Parish Center.
