Monterey Hills PTA Announces Reflections' Winners

Three students will move on to the First District PTA level, where the winning entrants will compete against students from Burbank to Pomona.

The Monterey Hills School PTA has announced the winners of the annual Reflections contest for "outstanding interpretation'' for this year's theme: "The Magic of a Moment.''

Students submitted works of literature, visual art and photography to illustrate the theme. All Winners were recognized Friday at the school's monthly awards assembly, and were named in the school's weekly newsletter.

The following students will compete at the Reflections' district level against kids from around the region:

Intermediate (3-5): Giving Birth--Martino Porcu, Monterey Hills

Intermediate (3-5): The Magic of a Moment--Lilian Zhu, Monterey Hills

Primary (K-2): The Magic Box--Twyla Metcalfe, Monterey Hills

Visual Art/Primary (K-2) Lower grades: 

#1 A Magic Moment (tiger)--Sophie Humby, grade 2

Visual Art/Intermediate (3-5) Upper grades:

#1 The Girl with an Angel--Sally Kim, grade 3

Photography/Intermediate Upper Grade:

#1 Giving Birth--Martino Porcu, grade 3

Literature/Primary (one entry) Lower Grades:

#1 The Magic Box--Twyla Metcalfe, grade 1

 Literature/Primary (one entry) Upper Grade:
