Snapshots: South Pasadena Students Walk, Bike to School

Many do so everyday—lots more join in on Walk or Bike to School Day.

Students across South Pasadena Unified School District marked the 10th Annual Walk or Bike to School Day on Wednesday in an effort to promote good health, better air quality and safer routes for pedestrians and bicyclists. Organized by the City of South Pasadena Community Services Department, the annual event was part of International Walk to School Month.

We hope you enjoy these photos, which were shot mostly on Marengo Avenue, in front of Marengo Elementary School and behind South Pasadena Middle School. And don’t miss the video of SPMS parent Andy Au, a “super volunteer” with the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, who encourages South Pasadena residents to participate in this coming Sunday’s 7.5-mile “Heart of L.A.” bike ride organized by CicLAvia.
