South Pas Junior Sets High Jump Record at Mt. SAC Relays

Claire Kieffer-Wright achieved her personal best at the recent event.

High jump champion Claire Kieffer-Wright set a new record at the recent Mount San Antonio College Relay event when she cleared 6 feet.

The South Pasadena High School junior, who last June scored the school a California State Championship in high jump at the CIF track and meet, also set the record for her high school, according to the South Pasadena Unified School District website

Kieffer-Wright's 6-foot record on April 20 breaks the previous Mt. SAC record of 5 feet 10 inches, which has stood since U. S. Olympian Amy Acuff set it in 1984, the website states. Emerging as one of the top female high jumpers in the nation, Kieffer-Wright broke the Mt. SAC record in dramatic fashion: she cleared the bar at 6 feet on her final jump.
