SPHS Track Star Sets Sights on Olympics

Laura Anuakpado, a senior, tells the South Pasadena High School newspaper that she wants to stay focused on her athletic future.

She might've accomplished an area-best showing at the 70th annual Pasadena Games recently, but Laura Anuakpado doesn't want to waste time basking in her success. 

“I feel great, but there are still faster people out there,” Anuakpado, a senior, told the Tiger Online

The South Pasadena High School's newspaper article quoted the student as saying, “I need to stay humble, be more focused, and maintain a positive attitude. I need to keep working hard to achieve my dream goal, the Olympics.”

Anuakpado's time for the Saturday games was 55.98 seconds.
