Tiger Invite: South Pas Scores Varsity Victories
Helena Van Loan and Josh Wilson shone at the third annual South Pasadena High School Track and Field Invite on Friday.
Varsity 1,600-meter junior runner Helena Van Loan earned her season-best time on Friday, as her school hosted the area's best in track and field, the Pasadena Sun reported.
According to the article, Van Loan, the 2011 All-Area cross-country Runner of the Year, expanded her lead in the final lap to victory with a time of 5 minutes 22.23 seconds, during the South Pasadena High School Track and Field Invite. Fellow Tiger and varsity 1,600-meter runner Josh Wilson broke past his competitors and nailed a victory with 4.28, just a few seconds off his personal-best time.
