The Dancing Dads were, in fact, ready for a brand new beat Friday night, as the South Pasadena pops mingled a little Gangnam Style into their Motown.
Clad in black jackets and pants, white button-down shirts and black fedoras, the dads swung and swayed in the South Pasadena Middle School auditorium -- dropping for some push ups in between -- to the 1964 Motown hit, "Dancing in the Street," first recorded by Martha and the Vandellas.
Lest you think this group is not in touch with more current dance moves, the middle school dads busted out a Gangnam groove, inciting screams and squeals from the attentive tween and adult audience. The performance was part of the ninth annual Fathers' Follies, a fundraiser for the school.
