Congrats to Boys Basketball on Big Win!

Tigers won against La Canada for the first time in two decades.

South Pas boys basketball won against La Canada Wednesday, reported Pasadena Star-News.

This was the team's first win against the Spartans in 12 years.

Reporter Miguel A. Melendez wrote:

Nobody could remember the last time South Pasadena had beaten La Canada, but South Pasadena's longtime athletic director Ralph Punaro said it had to have been since at least the late 1990s.

... The South Pasadena bench erupted in celebration not only because it accomplished an elusive feat, but because the Tigers are in the hunt for a playoff spot after Blair (8-9, 2-2) lost to Temple City (10-7, 1-3).

Congrats! I think the 1999/2000 team swept La Canada.. but 12 years is impressive

First off, congrats to the South Pas team on their big win. La Canada is always a tough team to play. Secondly, thanks for the clarification Heather. You are very correct that our 99-00 swept them back in the day. ~Justin
