Walk or Bike to School Day

City of South Pasadena, Community Services Department holds “WALK OR BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY” on Wednesday, October 3, 2012.  Hundreds of South Pasadena youth are expected to participate in this 8th annual event.  The program will take place during International Walk to School Month.  International Walk to School Month takes place around the world for the whole month of October. It is a month long program that celebrates the benefits of walking and raises awareness about the positive ways walking to school helps children and communities. Walk or Bike to School Day decreases traffic around schools, improves the air quality and environment, and helps promote a healthy lifestyle. South Pasadena Unified School District students in grades K – 8th who walk or bike to school in the morning will be greeted by South Pasadena Youth Commissioners and presented with a reward for their participation.
