The South Pasadena High boys' basketball team perhaps received something even better in the form of visiting short-handed San Dimas on Wednesday evening.The Rio Hondo League co-champion Tigers picked up their first postseason victory since 2007, gained some added confidence and erased a dreadful season-ending defeat all thanks to a 59-37 win in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division III-A playoffs.

It took a stern lecture and a scare, but the South Pasadena High girls' water polo team is moving forward thanks in part to the in-and-out-of-the-pool exploits of sophomore Devin Grab.The driver lambasted her team's lackluster play at halftime and then responded by taking over the third quarter as the Tigers defeated visiting Pacific View League runner-up Oxnard, 16-10, in Wednesday's CIF Southern Section Division III first round.
