Photo Gallery: South Pasadena High School Soccer Season Kicks Off

Tigers boys soccer season opener got underway with a disapointing 3-1 loss to Burbank High School at South Pasadena's Roosevelt Field.

The South Pasadena High School's boys  soccer team kicked off their 2010 season with an 3-1 loss in a match against a tough Burbank High School. The second goal, scored on a disputed penalty kick, gave Burbank the lead for good.

Ironically the Junior Varsity lost by an identical 3-1  score. The lone South Pas varsity goal was scored  by Cody Dunn. His younger brother scored the only goal for the J.V. team.

Coach Juan Zurita, starting his 17th season as Tiger mentor, has several players returning from last year, and the team is believed to be a strong contender for the Rio Hondo league title. The Tiger soccer team will play their second match Wednesday on their home field.
