South Pas Resident to Compete in Prestigious Gymnastics Tournament
Heather Chan, a 13-year-old South Pasadena resident, will compete in the 2012 LA Lights Tournament of Champions.
Heather Chan, a 13-year-old who attends , will be competing with over 200 gymnasts from different parts of the globe at the 2012 LA Lights Tournament in February.
Chan, who has been practicing rhythmic gymnastics since she was eight years old, is also a 2011 VISA USA National Qualifier.
The 2012 LA Lights Tournament of Champions, sponsored by the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (LASG) and authorized by the International Gymnastics Federation (IGF), is America’s largest and most prestigious gymnastics event, according to the press release of the tournament.

“This event is the largest multi-level competition in the world, drawing top gymnasts from around the globe and culminates in a dramatic awards ceremony and gymnastics celebration,” said Tanya Berenson, general manager of LASG in the event’s press release. “Given this is an Olympic year, all gymnasts are gearing up for their top performances to date.”
Chan will be participating in this tournament that serves as the key path for major international tournaments including the World Championship and the Olympic Games.

The 2012 LA Lights Tournament is scheduled for February 3-5, 2012 from 8am to 8pm at the Helen Bernstein High School (1309 N. Wilton Place) in Los Angeles.
