2nd Screening of The Wrecking Crew Added at 9:30 p.m. By Popular Demand

Who knows when you'll have another chance to see this incredible film, with more than 12 Film Festival Awards. It can't be commercially released yet.

Due to popular demand, a second showing of “The Wrecking Crew,” (a multi-award winning film about LA session musicians) will be screened
in the South Pasadena Public Library at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27.

As of last night, 160 online reservations had been made for the first screening at 7:00 p.m. on for September 27 (suggested $20 donation). No more reservations will be accepted for that showing. Those who already have reservations will be let in first and then we will let in as many walk-ups as we can—probably around 40. Walkups will still be able to donate if they wish. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and before the event starts at 7:00 we will be showing special outtake clips not in the film.

Those who would like to attend the second screening at 9:30 p.m. can now reserve seats online at http://spasadenalibrary.eventbrite.com (suggested $15 donation). There will not only be lots more room for walk-ups at 9:30, it will also easier for them to obtain seats up front. Also, the South Pasadena Unified School District has generously allowed the use of their large parking lot at 1020 El Centro Street for attendees of the second showing (it’s right across the from the Community Room and can be entered via Fairview
Avenue). The second screening will still feature a Q & A, but it will only
be with filmmaker Denny Tedesco. Also, the second screening won’t feature
refreshments but we will be providing lists of the many places nearby to eat or
buy snacks.

It’s a wonderful, touching and… hilarious film
about the unsung stars of so many records that you carry in your heart.” Elvis
Costello

“It was incredible! It had everything I wanted to see and
more that I didn't expect.... It shows that these legendary musicians, who we
listen to everyday, are anything but invisible." Peter Frampton

“The Wrecking Crew,” a documentary film produced and directed by Denny Tedesco, son of legendary late Wrecking Crew guitarist Tommy Tedesco, has played around the world in the festival circuit with over a dozen awards and rave reviews and other accolades.

The film has not been able to be released because of the high cost of music licensing. So the filmmakers have been traveling the country playing for fund raisers.

They were the studio musicians behind some of the biggest hits in the 1960s and 70s. From “Be My Baby” to “California Girls;” “Strangers in the Night” to “Mrs. Robinson;” “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’” to “Up, Up and Away;” and from “Viva Las Vegas” to “Mr. Tambourine Man,” the group dubbed The Wrecking Crew played on them all. Six years in a row in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, the Grammy for “Record of the Year” went to Wrecking Crew member recordings.
