Patch Blog: Rotary Club Funds 'Self Growth' Library Collection

Top quality books can help us improve our lives and grow as individuals.

The Rotary Club of South Pasadena awarded a $1,500 matching grant to the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library on April 10 to launch the “Self Growth” project, an up-to-date collection of books, CDs, and DVDs on popular psychology, personal development, and self help.

The pledged funds in their 2012 Budget toward the project and the match from the Rotary Club will enable the Library to start the effort with about 100 new titles.

The Friends and the Rotary Club have partnered for the last couple of years on the “Fitness for Life” project, which brought an unprecedented influx of books and DVDs on exercise, fitness, and athletics into the collection.
