Op/Ed: Let’s All Be Water and Energy Wise This Summer

Come learn how you can be water and energy wise this summer, which helps to lead the way for a better, more sustainable future.

It has been a particularly dry winter in regards to snowpack, which is putting pressure on our water supply. This is especially true as we move into the warmer summer months. We also face a possible energy crunch, due to the suspension of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.

As we move into the warm summer months, South Pasadena residents are reminded to use water wisely and heed the city’s water conservation guidelines.

Summertime is also a time for heavy energy use, due to increased air conditioner use. Also, in the summer children are home more and powering up all of their electronic devices. It is also a time for guests and visitors. These all can add to increased electricity demand.
