The Big Downfall of Vatican II

Some fifty years after Vatican II the question remains. "Are we better off now then we were prior to Vatican II ?" It hardly seems so. While there was an abundance of good that came out of Vatican II there were also many things that brought about the destruction of the Catholic church. One of the things we know it that Vatican II encouraged the religious to go out a be a part of the world. While this was all perceived to be a good idea on paper, it most definitely turned out to be one of the great downfalls of Catholicism. This change prompted many religious to remove their Roman collars/habits and virtually walk out into the world to take on the plaguing social issues of modern times. As this crisis continued the religious became more "socially centered" and less "God centered." Forgetting that God said, "man can do nothing without me." What went wrong? Most religious left Our Blessed Lord behind. This recipe for destruction has left God to become a casualty in His own church. What I have personally witnessed is an abundance of lazy, part time religious who have set aside their spiritual calling to become more "secular." The pulpit of the Gospel has become the pulpit of social issues. In fact, many churches have now moved the tabernacle of Our Blessed Lord off to a side altar or some small corner of the church. For many Catholics, finding Our Blessed Lord has become a game of "Find Waldo." This Vatican II change has literally removed God from the equation of Catholicism. Many religious have removed old habits only to take on bad habits. I once ask a priest why he no longer wears his Roman collar. His shocking response was that he doesn't want to be bothered by people. I also ask a nun if she misses wearing a religious veil? She said "no because there are places I go that I don't want people to know I'm a nun." Are you kidding me? Sadly these are the religious who ridicule and condemn the religious who have remained faithful to their call. My greatest hope is that Pope Francis will throw down the gavel on these wayward religious who have gone to far around the bend. Far to many religious have divorced Our Blessed Lord and married into a secular lifestyle. This created a new breed of religious and replaced the burned out syndrome that plagues the older men and women in the religious life. However the question remains. Are the days of great priest such as John Bosco and Padre Pio gone forever? Will there ever be another Mother Teresa? What happen to the Bells of St. Mary Bing Crosby/Fr. O'Malley type priest in our church? Do they still exist? They most certainly do. And the good news is that these religious secular liberal progressive broom stick crowds are slowly disappearing. New religious orders are on the rise and they are sending the Nuns on Buses packing! Real men and women who love God and are committed to bringing the love of God to the people are becoming the rising stars of the Catholic church. Men and women committed to rekindling the flame of Catholic spiritually into the hearts of God's people. Insisting that nothing can be done without God. As the founder of a new religious order, the Brothers of Padre Pio I cannot emphasis the importance of something St. Padre Pio once said, "people need to talk." Now for the first time in years men and women who are aligned with the teachings of the church and actually wear religious habits are circling the wagons and committed to the restoration of the church. As a Brother of Padre Pio I have witnessed first hand a surge of Catholic's on fire for their love of God and His Church. Yes, people need to talk and our religious must be visible and ready with an open ear. We can only pray that the religious who have abandoned God come to the realization that nothing can be done without God. The time has come for Catholics to take back our church from these progressives who are determined to bring down the church one pillar at a time. Today we thank God for this new generation of religious who are committed to retrofitting the spiritual lives of Catholics around the world. For these are the true defenders of the faith. Br.
