South Pasadena high school's varsity football matched up against Franklin HS from nearby Highland Park on Thursday in a non-scoring scrimmage. Unlike games, scrimmages are two teams playing a set amount of plays on offense and defense which gives coaches an opportunity to evaluate their teams and make necessary adjustments before the first game. Coach Marty Konrad said he was somewhat satisfied with his team's progress but they still had a lot of work to do before their season opener at Eagle Rock HS. It will be the first meeting between the two teams in many years.
