Rotary Club Funds 4 Local Projects

South Pasadena Rotary Club dished out $5,000 to local organizations for various projects Tuesday. Here's where the money went.

The South Pasadena Rotary Club formally presented its 2012 Community Service Grants Awards Tuesday during its regular meeting at

And the winners are: 

  • The : $1,500 for ,
  • El Sereno Middle School: $1,000 to match a Lefler Grant ($1,000) to support their “Environmental Sciences Academy” field trips.
  • The $1,000 to match $1,000 from Athens Services to support its Eclectic Music Festival 2012 (stay tuned for the lineup—it's May 5!). 
  • , Inc.: $1,500 to buy books for their “Self Growth Project.”

Why is our Rotary Club sending money to a LA Unified District School??? Why not our Middle School or one of the Elementary schools?
