Outreach & Engagement of Homeless

Recylced Resources for the Homeless is a small nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of people in our community. On the second Saturday of each month we outreach and engage homeless folks living in our neighborhoods.

Outreach and engagement events are open to everyone. The event entails a basic training on mental illness, the homeless population in Los Angels, substance abuse, communication, and safety. From 10:00AM -12:30PM people are paired with one experienced outreach worker and one new volunteer to ensure safety. Teams outreach, engage, and deliver items to people in need; gathering vital information which allows us to connect people to services and also continue to serve individuals in the future. This is followed by a debriefing from 12:30PM-1:00PM to discuss and evaluate the event. Anyone who is interested in assisting the homeless is urged to attend as this is a good way to talk to the people we serve, listen to them, and learn their personal story.
