Forever Young: Seniors go to Prom

One senior citizen experienced her very first prom Friday afternoon. What memories do you have from your high school dances?

The hosted its first Senior Prom Friday afternoon where Luis Vadillo and Lorraine Pontrelli were announced king and queen.

The event was a result of SPHS student Emily Figueroa's efforts to support the elderly community as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award.

"I wanted them to know there are people there for them—no mater what their age," she said Friday.

Wearing a black dress, attendee Anita Higginbotham was delighted at the idea of a prom—in part because she never got to attend one growing up.

"In Germany, we don't have prom like you do here," she said. "... I had such a great time."
