Photo of the Week: Packages for Haiti

This week, Patch highlights volunteers in town.

This week's featured photo includes community members Bennett and Jeanie Nelsen loading donations bound for Haiti as a part of Mission Haiti.

School supplies, clothes and sewing machines are among the many items community members have donated through this program.

In addition to these donations, Holy Family partnered with Hands Together in 2006—a non-profit organization that has drilled 160 wells, planted 5,000 trees and built an agricultural education center since 1997.

Parishioners of Holy Family have traveled to Haiti to meet the people, tour the programs and assess how the church can help, according to their website.

Currently, the church is in need of packagers. To donate or lend a helping hand, contact Mary Mather Nally at mmathernally@gmail.com or Karl Holtsnider at (626) 403-6139.
