Rotary Club Offers $2,500 Grants

If so, you're in luck. Rotary Club is offering up to $2,500 individual grants—plus manpower—to help get your group's project off the ground.

Here are some other guidelines to keep in mind when applying:

  • Qualifying organizations must be non-profit and tax exempt under IRS 501 (c) (3) regulations and serve clients within or adjacent to the City of South Pasadena.
  • No awards will be made to grant-making private foundations as defined by the IRS.
  • An active member of the Rotary Club of South Pasadena must endorse the application.
  • Grants requested must be for a well-defined, specific project that will enhance the programs of the requesting organization and be of service to the South Pasadena and adjacent communities. Include any non-cash support needed such as labor or participation at fundraising events.
  • Individual grants will not exceed $2,500 for any one year.
  • A member of the Community Service Committee will personally evaluate each grant request, including interviewing a representative of the requesting organization.
  • Grant applications and all supporting documentation must be submitted to the Rotary Club by Thursday, March 1, 2012.

The Community Service Committee will review all requests with recommendations made to the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of South Pasadena. Awards will be made after April 2, 2012. Grant recipients are expected to deliver a one-page report on funds utilization and the project outcome within one year after receiving an award.
