Adoptable Pets at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA & Fun Fall Activities for Pets

Adoptable pets at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA.

Meet  these four, friendly animal companions looking for a forever home:

A311993 — Lizzy is a five-month-old German shepherd mix. She loves to play and enjoys eating peanut butter from her Kong toy! Her adoption fee is $120.

A314288 — Lily is a six-year-old calico cat. She enjoys being petted and loves to lounge around. Her regular adoption fee is $70; however she does qualify for the Seniors for Seniors program for eligible adopters in which her adoption fee is waived and adopters only pay the $20 microchip fee.

A313339 — Clover is a small white and black bunny. She’s very affectionate and is even litter box trained. Her adoption fee is $30.

A313441 — Winston is a one-year-old Boxer. He loves going out on walks and is very playful. He does have a medical condition that affects his ears so ongoing treatment would be required once he’s adopted. Call our adoptions office for more information at (626) 792-7151.

The adoption fee includes the animal’s spay/neuter surgery, a microchip, the first set of vaccinations, as well as a free follow-up health check at a participating vet. New adopters will receive complimentary health and wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals. Ask an adoptions counselor for more information during your visit.

Call the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA at 626.792.7151 and refer to the animal’s “A” number, or visit us  at 361 S. Raymond Ave in Pasadena. Adoption hours are 11-4 Sunday, 9-5 Tuesday –Friday and 9-4 Saturday. Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters from phone calls or email. Directions and photos of all pets can be found at www.pasadenahumane.org.

Fall is a great time of year to enjoy outdoor activities with pets. Cooler temperatures make it easier for your pets –and you!– to stay cool.

Here are some fun fall activities activities to do with your animal companions:

  • Activity classes – They’re a great way to strengthen the  bond between you and your pets and learn new training methods. PHS offers classes on-site as well as at the LA Arboretum.
  • Hiking – Cooler temperatures make it more enjoyable for both you and your pet. Always check for fleas or ticks afterward.
  • Outdoor games – Playing fetch, Frisbee or football with your dog while raking the leaves. This can help burn energy and give your dog a good workout.
  • Fall festivals & Halloween events – The annual Wiggle Waggle Walk on September 30 is always good way to start off the season. You can meet fellow animal lovers, make new friends and best of all help the animals in the community! You can also check pet-friendly websites like BringFido.com for a comprehensive list of activities to do in your area. Dressing up your pets in costumes is a sure way to bring plenty of fun and laughs to the entire family too.

You can definitely follow specific news! If you only wanted to follow police and fire, for example,Read More click on the News tab on the home page. Then, down the left side of the page are multiple news categories. Click the one you want and then it'll ask you if you want to receive email updates about this topic. Once you do, it'll show you as "subscribed.'' If you follow "Top News'' you receive updates on all stories.

Personally I do not want to get updates on all stories under a given category. It is too bad that weRead More can no longer follow specific stories as we used to.... As it is I get too many e-mails.... I hope patch will consider to allow following of specific stories instead of all stories under a given category.
