Matra's post about numbers had me thinking. I had time today so on my evening walk I sat for 15Read More minute at El Centro at Indiana an intersections that IMO is one of the worst in the city and should be patrolled more often. Here's what I saw. From 6pm to 6:15pm 131 cars passed the intersection 80 cars stopped. 42 cars rolled through quickly {not a Ca stop.} 12 of the 42 did a true Ca stop ie they gave an effort to stop. 6 of the 42 were making a right turn. 9 cars completely ran the stop signs. All of those car ran it on El Centro. Interesting info IMO. Pathetic nothing is really do about it.

Issuing crosswalk citations are in my view used to collect revenue for the city. It has been doneRead More many times before. More than 160 people have gotten $500 traffic citations after the South Pasadena Police Department set up an elaborate sting involving a decoy school bus with people walking on and off the vehicle. The ticket operation pulled in around 80 thousand dollars. Those tickets were eventually thrown out. issuing tickets won't solve the problem, but try telling that to the people who reap the benefits.

I don't like it at all. When Patch first started, you could see what people were saying. Then thatRead More became more limited. Now it seems to be gone. I don't know what Patch is now. Very difficult to relate to.

To me, life is like a huge plate of food, but sprinkled lightly with all sorts of seasonings. TheRead More right blend of the very subtle adds more than a pot full of garlic or black pepper. The little things that mark time..the unsung heroes...like one poppy amongst a million poppies in a field. Little unique touches in a moment of time. The capricious breeze that sent my Mother's wind chime into a little frenzy of laughter..back in 1952. I remember that as well as the lazy turtle crawling out from under his rock to greet the sunrise. I remember that too. All along the way, the business of people..rushing...tending to their things...not noticing the symphonies of little things. The night blooming jasmine folds its petals..having done its job of perfuming the night when we were asleep. The morning glories waking up to their shift....The sparkling dew yielding up its touch to a sunny day....So many wonders...so very important and so un-appreciated
