B.R.I.N.G - I.T Judith! I would buy a CD by you in a heartbeat! Thank you for bringing SingingRead More back! If this is the level of talent, I'd actually consider watching The Voice.

What in the world are you talking about?
ROBERT E. FISHBACK March 30, 2013 at 10:31 pm
Hold on...when is the last time a full length film starring Meryl Streep. Julia Roberts, directed byRead More George Clooney was filmed in so Cal ? A film taken from a play written by a Tulsa native? 'August, Osage County" was recently filmed in Osage and Washington County OKla. Eat your hearts out....When the Okies left Okla for California during the dust bowl; it raised the IQ level in both states.

Right?!? When I taught creative writing to a group of 10 kids at an after school and weekendRead More enrichment academy, it would take me hours and hours to go thru their papers, make notes, edit, etc. Teachers have 30 kids in English class. Hats off to them - and to you folks at the Masonic Lodge :-)
South Pasadena Masonic Lodge May 3, 2013 at 10:56 pm
The comittee members read every essay and each picked their five favorites in each catagory. ThenRead More came the difficult part, comparing each members picks and coming up with the top three plus an honorable mention. Over 135 essays were submitted (perhaps because of the hundreds of dollars of prize money) and it gave all of us a renewed respect for teachers who have to do what we did on a regular basis!

Really wonderful to see such great support for local students from the Masonic Lodge. Great eveningRead More and so proud of our South Pasadena students!

Luke Halpin...Wasn't that the name of the cute guy 'Sandy' on the TV show 'Flipper' back in theRead More 60's?

Great opening night show ! As a community theater person that usually labors in obscurity, IRead More surely envy the huge crowd for opening night, though. I wish our company could borrow the South Pasadena audience for a few shows.

"Less" applies to things that can't be divided into units like water, air, gold, grass,Read More money. "Fewer" applies to things that can be and are divided into units like birds, weeks, items, streets. The LSU football coach is named "Les Miles." I think he should change his name to "Fewer Miles."

congrats to Lissa! Lissa and Jim are two of the nicest and most dedicated people I have met. TheyRead More have been a big asset to So Pas with their Fremont CentreTheater, making it a prime cultural performing arts center in the area. They have also contributed their time to various community endeavors. They are well deserving of recognition

Having the film crews around is nothing new to South Pas., however, when all traffic (Grand Ave. andRead More Mission) comes to a stand still, one has to hope this sitcom is short lived.
Janet Cartwright March 18, 2013 at 06:53 pm
Something was going on film-wise today down on Mission/Grand. Actually, for a little while now.Read More Maybe the Mike Judge thing.
Ed Larsson March 13, 2013 at 05:17 pm

Congratulations South Pasadena, and thanks for the mention of the beautiful Rialto! It sure wouldRead More have been nice to see the Rialto with open doors for the 125th! My group, the Friends of the Rialto, is a non profit trying to gather all interested parties together to come up with ways to preserve and some day reopen the iconic movie palace. It's a long and difficult process, but it has been done with multiple historic theaters across the country. If people want to join us, or just get more info and check out old Rialto pictures, please visit our sites: www.FriendsoftheRialto.org www.facebook.com/FriendsoftheRialto

Was looking forward to the show, guess alot of stupid people want to ruin and change history. ThisRead More country was built with alot of rough & tumble deal with it don't try and hide it under the bed.
JT Hampton February 28, 2013 at 04:47 pm
Well, ok, David, but it was going to be a dramatization for fun and entertainment, right? Not aRead More deposition of what happened on March 2, 1888, right?
Scott February 28, 2013 at 01:52 pm
Good for South Pasadena! Residents are hopefully coming to understand the importance of welcomingRead More filming on our streets, and hopefully - making it easier. Whether or not you're in the industry, it's good for all of us!
henk friezer February 27, 2013 at 04:54 pm
years ago I met Micheal Landon who used S Pas extensively for various episodes. I asked him whatRead More prompted him to film his series in So Pas. he responded that it reminded him of a small mid-western all-american town that could be anywhere. He stated that it was the kind of town where Ozzie and Harriet could be walking their dog down the street or have the Beaver and Wally playing in a front yard. I think that kind of summed it up!
Donna Evans (Editor) February 27, 2013 at 04:01 pm
That is curious, Dale. I'll ask! Yeah, nothing I want more with my pint of Guinness than a stuffed,Read More mounted lion :-)
Alison Gee February 20, 2013 at 03:01 am
