Out of the Closet
1136 Fair Oaks Ave, South Pasadena, CA 91030
Out of the Closet is a statewide chain run by AIDS Healthcare Foundation that humbly self-describes itself as "theMore world's most fabulous thrift store." Revenue generated through sales funds the not-for-profit foundation's medical services and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs. The store's website reports heavy consumer traffic with 30,000 individual donations and almost a million shoppers annually. And because Out of the Closet accepts so many kinds of items for resale, this is an excellent place to donate what otherwise would be clutter in the garage, or, appropriately enough, the closet. This California thrift operation is guided by a very worthy cause. Patronage here literally contributes toward saving lives.
