The South Pasadena Police Department employs 35 sworn officers, 15 non-sworn personnel and 30 reserve police…More officers. Led by Police Chief Joseph Payne, the police department handles patrol operations, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations and administrative support services.
The department focuses on crime prevention through community outreach programs, including neighborhood watch, business watch, home and business security inspections and robbery presentations.
It also features a cadet program that allows cadets to take on part of the duties of full-time officers, allowing officers to spend more time in the field. Cadets can perform data entry, enforce parking violations and assist the public at the front counter.
