Special tours for schools or other groups can be scheduled by <a href="mailto:info@sppreservation.org">emailing the curator.</a> <br /><br />For many years, Meridian Iron Works created wrought-iron products until the City of South Pasadena purchased and restored its building. The South Pasadena Preservation Foundation started the museum in the 1980s and has operated it free to the public ever since. It provides a view into the culture and history that shaped South Pasadena. After you see the exhibit, you can buy souvenirs from the gift shop. Postcards, t-shirts, books and an <a href="http://www.sppreservation.org/sp%20stories%20dvd.jpg">oral history DVD </a>are for sale.</p> <p>South Pasadena's weekly farmer's market is held on Thursdays on Meridian Avenue at El Centro, so the streets immediately surrounding the museum are blocked off on Thursdays. Free street parking is available within walking distance in residential neighborhoods.</p>
