Nick Martinez, Neighbor

Nick Martinez is a local photographer, videographer and web developer. In addition to Patch.com, he has worked for The Detroit News, the Ventura County Star, Variety and the OC Weekly. Originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, Nick has a passion for telling the personal stories of local communities through video and photography. He received bachelor's degrees in journalism and American studies from the University of Texas at Austin before moving to California in January 2006 to work at The Star as a copy editor and page designer. After spending a year and half in Ventura, he moved to Los Angeles. Soon he was involved in the local community, doing improv in Hollywood and volunteering at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, for whom he currently manages social media strategy. Nick's photographs have appeared in exhibits at the Los Angeles Art Show and Santa Monica's Gallery Skart. Nick is available to shoot weddings, events, portraits and headshots.

In his spare time, he enjoys whittling, running, making fantastic tortillas from scratch, movies and traveling. He's a news and political junkie and can often be found at coffee shops on the East Side, scouring the web or editing his latest work.
