Museum Movie Nights Return — Thanks to Generous Donors!

The South Pasadena Preservation Foundation typically airs a series of movies on the side of the Meridian Iron Works building. An outpouring of donations is enabling the Foundation to screen at least two films next month.

They're ba-ack!

Thanks to great community support, the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation has announced that at least two museum movie screenings will be held this summer. "Beethoven" will be shown on the side of the Iron Works building, Saturday, August 17th.
Earlier this month, Patch posted about how the annual museum movie series was going to have to be scrapped this summer, due to a lack of funding. The SPPF over extended its budget this year due to the expenses associated with the city's 125th anniversary celebration.

Lori Rusch, a foundation board member, said an outpouring of support has enabled the non-profit to show the 1992 family film, which was shot extensively in South Pas. Aside from the lovable St. Bernard, the movie features Bonnie Hunt, Charles Grodin, and Dean Jones, as the evil vet.

Another flick that will be shown this summer is "Back to the Future'' with Michael J. Fox. The screening will follow the Saturday, August 24 City of South Pasadena time capsule instillation and dedication at the Iron Works. Rusch pointed out that the movie may go a bit long for the little ones, but all ages are welcome.

"Thanks again to our South Pasadena families and friends, we couldn't have done it with out you!'' she said.
